To visit:
church of S. Maria Assunta marked from the great majolica dome, inside anticipates an icon and a crucifixion of Fabrizio Santafede. During the works in Piazza Flavio Gioia the rests of an ancient roman villa were brought back to light. Perhaps the villa was constructed for some personage of the roman senatorial class.
The apogee structures place in areas and on different quotas under the Church of S. Assumed Maria. The first structure, under the oratory is composed of two spaces: a rectangular one, along whose walls align 65 funeral seats in masonry; the second, tightened and long, also it with arch barrels, sees the presence of bathtubs in masonry, and of an access to an ancient place of interment under the central nave of the church. The atmosphere of medieval age, placed beneath of the apse of the Church mother, a time used for religious functions, is characterized by four arch barrels and an apse with two small cross vaults.
Beaches:
On the east side the little beaches of Laurito, Saint Peter, Arienzo, Fiumicello, the Door, Tower Side, dipped in the green and of great suggestion. On the western side of the shoreline a pedestrian narrow lane that goes along the cliff leads to the beach of Fornillo. They delimit two towers, the Tower of Fornillo or Clavel and Torre Trasita, constructed in the 1500's in order protect the coast from enemy incursions. by sea the beautiful beaches of Remmese, Scogli Piani and Cavone can be reached.
Li Galli, le tre di Gallo Lungo, la Rotonda e dei Briganti would be according to the ancient myths, the residence of the sirens of Homer in the Odissea. In one of these the Russian dancer Rudolf Nuierev inhabited until death.
Paths:
From the reservoir naturalistic of Vallone Porto, to the path of gods, to the excursion on the Monte Comune charming itineraries can be made to keep in contact with fabulous coastal and mountains’ landscapes. Going up a few steps towards Montepertuso, literally “the hole in the mountain”, a natural arc can be admired. Successively the small village of Nocelle is found on the Sant'Angelo mount to three Peaks. Taking advantage of the wonderful territory with its walls full of rocks, beyond 200 Itineraries have been created, having realized the more important center of sport climb of the south Italy.
